The call came on a Tuesday AM... Norma Jacobs recommended the Studio...Sarba Das was directing a new film in N.Y.C. and needed 2 sisters, a Bas Mitzva daughter and her younger sister. Sarba said "Do you have any girls like that?" Caroline answered " I have a Studio full of them. Come and see a run-thru." Sarba was there the following afternoon and watched for an hour with a program in her hand to identify the girls. She called Caroline that evening having chosen 2 girls and wanting to discuss them. She got an A-1 recommendation from Caroline (and their phone numbers). The Summer Theatre Campers were all a twitter the next day when they were told that Julia Lasko and Rachel Moss would be appearing in a film. They would be playing Abbie and Rachel Kaufman in KARMA CALLING an Independant film and SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Project for which Sarba had received a $100,000 grant. PS A bonus for the parents who do all the driving into the city. They all got to be extras in the film. The girls were in the right place at the right time - Worth-Tyrrell Studios this summer. |
